1) To utilize and train dogs rescued from local animal shelters and, by doing so, find placement for these dogs working as hearing or service dogs for persons with disabilities. All dogs participating in these programs shall be spayed or neutered before placement

2) All dogs certified for duty as Service, Hearing or Ambassador Dogs through
K-9 Crossroads, shall meet or exceed the minimum standards for their classificaton as set forth by Assistance Dogs International and/or by Delta Society.

3) To implement an adoption program for dogs which have been rescued but fail to meet the requirements to qualify as working service dogs, thereby keeping these animals from being returned to shelters by providing them training and skills making them desirable candidates for adoption as family pets to be placed with responsible owners.

4) Through training and recreation activities, provide current dog owners with the means to maintain healthy and working relations with their pets thus lowering the number of animals abandoned and sent to local animal shelters.

5) Promote positive public awareness of local, state and federal laws including, but not limited to, the Americans With Disabilities Act in regards to guide, hearing and service dogs, while in training and in the possession of a person with disabilities.

6) Promote and implement a local program as outlined by the Delta Society to provide pet therapy services to local medical facilities and other local organizations.
